It was a genuine pleasure making this patch for the guys on 42(TB) Sqn. This is a design that leans hard into intimidation, control, and the quiet power of maritime dominance.

At the heart of the patch is Medusa, one of Greek mythology’s most feared figures. Reimagined rising from the ocean, she demonstrates Crew 2’s ability to detect, track, and attack threats long before they realise they’ve been seen. Her serpentine hair crackles with energy, mirrored by the lightning strike to starboard — a visual metaphor for sudden, decisive action.

Below the surface lies a submarine, partially petrified as Medusa’s gaze takes effect. This emphasises Poseidon Force’s Anti-Submarine Warfare role: once detected, there is no escape. The slogan “PETRIFY THE ENEMY” says it plainly.

Medusa’s trident reinforces control of the maritime domain, while the turbulent sea and darkened sky reflect the demanding environments Poseidon crews operate in, day and night, in all conditions. Framed with 42(TB) Sqn and Crew 2, the patch fits well in the squadrons them of mythic imagery, in the modern training mission of the OCU.
