42(TB)Sqn Crew3 Patch

Unveiling the Crew 3 Athena patch for 42(TB) Squadron, the OCU squadron for P-8A Poseidon at RAF Lossiemouth. This design brings together squadron heritage, crew personality, and a touch of mythos, all in one badge!

At the centre is Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, warfare, and strategic thinking! A fitting embodiment of what 42 Sqn instils in every new Poseidon crew. She’s shown in a stylised, Mandalorian-inspired helmet and flight suit, merging ancient symbolism with the spirit of today’s aircrew culture. Her spear points the way forward, reinforcing the motto proudly displayed below: “ATHENA – THIS IS THE WAY.”

Flying alongside her is the owl, one of Athena’s classic companions as well as RAF Lossiemouth’s crest, reimagined as a vigilant mascot for Crew 3. Behind them, northern lights and silhouettes of Poseidons crossing the sky.
